The Autumn Leaves Festival showcases our rich musical heritage, such as Old-Time, Blue Grass and Gospel performed by local musicians on the downtown stage; the unique arts & crafts of more than 200 craftsmen line the streets with many demonstrating their talents and skills passed down through the generations; then there is “Food for the Soul”, featuring 25 food vendors serving ham biscuits, collards & cornbread, barbeque, hamburgers, ground steak and more served with hospitality by our local civic and other community groups.

Waldensian Festival

The event is presented by the Town of Valdese each year to commemorate the heroic Waldensian people who founded Valdese in 1893. During the two-day festival celebration, the Town honors its unique heritage with a variety of events that fill the quaint downtown with over 15,000 visitors and residents. The Friday night kickoff features live music, a classic car show, amusement rides, and a special presentation of the outdoor drama "From This Day Forward."

The weekend continues on Saturday when Main Street is lined with over 170 food/art/craft vendors, amusement rides, a bocce tournament, an open art competition, attraction tours, street dances, and live music throughout the day. The Valdese community looks forward to sharing the celebration with you!

On July 27, 2019, the Brushy Mountain Community Center held its first annual Peach & Heritage Festival. It showcased local artisans, home-grown peaches, and Brushy Mountain's rich heritage. We invite you to join us on the last Saturday in July each year, in beautiful downtown Wilkesboro, to experience everything that Brushy Mountain has to offer. We hope your time spent with our community is as sweet as our peaches!

Friday is “The Peach Party” from 5pm-9pm and the Festival on Sat from 8am-2pm. Come get face paint, airbrush tattoos and peaches!
